ABOUT THE COURSE:

MA English is a two-year postgraduate course which deals with all fields of literary studies including the ancient, the modern, as well as contemporary. The course is meant to enrich the understanding of students with regards to forms of literature from all over the world. The course includes study of literary works primarily written in English as well as works translated into the English language. It also includes courses such as literary theory, post-colonial literature, gender studies, film studies, and more. It is a comprehensive course dealing with literary works from celebrated as well as obscure writers all over the world including countries like the UK, America, Canada, India, and more.

SCOPE:

Students who have earned their Master’s degree in English literature can choose from a variety of career options. They can go into the field of research and pursue a PhD in literary studies. They can also get into the field of higher education by becoming a teacher or a lecturer in educational institutes of all levels. Furthermore, they can also choose to be a content marketing specialist or a trainer with any reputed MNC. Academic writing is also a flourishing field for literature scholars these days. With a Masters in English, the students can also appear for the UGC NET exam and apply for government as well as private Assistant Professor vacancies.
